About the Journal

Kinephanos is a bilingual, inter- and multidisciplinary online academic journal dedicated to the study of matters closely or remotely related to popular culture and media. Films and TV series, video games, emerging technologies and fan culture are the main subjects covered and analyzed on this site. You will find articles that explore the issues and place of image and sound in popular culture from a variety of perspectives. Please note that we are currently transitioning to a new OJS platform, and some issues may be inaccessible. For issues published since 2020, you can find them on the Érudit platform: https://www.erudit.org/en/journals/kinephanos/#back-issues.
