Abstract

We are very proud to launch the first issue of Kinephanos, an online, bilingual, interdisciplinary, and academic journalstudying issues of film and popular media. The journal's main interests are about film and television series, video games, digital technologies, and fan culture. The different theoretical perspectives favor film studies, theories of communication, humanities, and cultural and media studies.

In this first issue, the authors explore the theme of culture and reception from approaches that take the form of a prologue announcing the future topics of the journal, emphasizing the importance of the reception of contemporary cultural objects and imageries associated with it.
